Olympic gold medalist and Colorado native Mikaela Shiffrin has joined the ownership group of Denver’s new National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) franchise, which will debut in 2026 as the city’s first team in the league.

Shiffrin, the most decorated Alpine skier in history, shared her enthusiasm for supporting sports in her home state. Her involvement brings leadership and visibility as the team begins building its identity and community connections.

The ownership group plans a 12,000-seat temporary stadium, with a permanent 14,500-seat venue targeted for completion by 2028. Shiffrin joins other elite athletes investing in the growth of women’s professional sports.
