Emma Raducanu’s grass season has taken a hit as a lingering back injury forced her withdrawal from the Berlin Open. The British star, ranked No. 37, had high hopes for a strong showing on home turf this summer.

Her promising run at the Queen’s Club Championships ended prematurely after a straight-set quarterfinal loss to China’s Zheng Qinwen. Despite early wins, Raducanu struggled with back pain throughout the tournament, casting doubt on her short-term fitness.

Now sidelined from Berlin, Raducanu must recalibrate her plans with Wimbledon looming. While her team insists the injury isn’t serious, careful recovery will be crucial if she hopes to return in peak form for the season’s biggest stage.
