Chelsea secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Manchester City, moving them one step closer to their sixth consecutive Women’s Super League title. Erin Cuthbert’s stoppage-time winner at the Etihad Stadium capped a dramatic comeback, reinforcing Chelsea’s dominance despite missing star striker Sam Kerr. The win comes as a morale boost after their midweek Champions League loss to City, keeping their title hopes firmly on track.

Chelsea fans eagerly await Kerr’s return, but manager Sonia Bompastor has ruled out her involvement until after the upcoming international break. The Blues, however, have shown resilience, winning back-to-back domestic clashes against City, including the League Cup final. With their latest victory, they now lead the WSL by eight points and head into Thursday’s Champions League second leg with renewed confidence.

City, under interim manager Nick Cushing, started strong with Brazilian forward Kerolin opening the scoring. Chelsea responded swiftly, equalizing through Aggie Beever-Jones before Cuthbert’s late heroics sealed the win. Elsewhere in the WSL, West Ham triumphed 2-0 over Tottenham in a Matildas-heavy London derby, while Manchester United’s emphatic 4-0 win over Aston Villa strengthened their grip on third place.
