Swedish golfer Daniela Holmqvist, famously known as “Spider Woman,” made headlines in 2013 when she was bitten by an Australian redback spider during an LPGA pre-qualifying event. Displaying remarkable resilience, she extracted the venom using a tee and continued playing. Though she didn’t qualify, her courage earned her a lasting nickname, solidifying her reputation for determination on the course.

Holmqvist, who played collegiate golf at Tulane University before transferring to UC Berkeley, turned professional in 2012 and joined the LPGA Tour in 2016. Over the years, she has recorded two top-10 finishes and 11 top-25 finishes.
In the 2025 LPGA season, she participated in the Founders Cup but missed the cut. Since then, she has been absent from tournaments, possibly due to preparations for a significant life event—her wedding.

Recently, Holmqvist tied the knot with Charles Schick in a grand ceremony at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club. The high-profile wedding saw notable guests, including former President Trump and entrepreneur Elon Musk, celebrating alongside her LPGA colleagues. Holmqvist, a known supporter of Trump, was delighted by their presence. Fellow LPGA stars like Paula Creamer, Madelene Sagstrom, and Brittany Lincicome attended, sharing their joy on social media. With such overwhelming support, Holmqvist’s wedding was a truly memorable affair.
