Emma Aicher continues her impressive form in alpine skiing, securing her third podium and second victory of the season in the super-G race in La Thuile, Italy. Just two weeks after her maiden World Cup podium and win in Kvitfjell, the 21-year-old German showcased her speed and skill once again.

Aicher made the most of favorable early conditions on a relatively straightforward course set by her coach. Despite a slower third sector, she delivered a strong final section, clocking 57.89 seconds to take the win. Her performance marks Germany’s first super-G podium finish since December 2019.

Italian skiers Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone completed the podium, finishing second and third, respectively. Goggia had a strong run but eased off in the final section, missing the win by just 0.06 seconds. Brignone, despite hitting a gate and icing her hand afterward, secured a crucial third-place finish.

The race also saw dramatic moments, including crashes by Austria’s Cornelia Huetter and Lindsey Vonn. Huetter, who was leading at the third split, lost control in soft snow, while Vonn suffered an early exit after her ski detached. Meanwhile, Lara Gut-Behrami now holds just a 45-point lead in the super-G standings, with two races remaining.
