Emma Raducanu eases through Queen’s opener – but tougher challenge awaits in next round

Emma Raducanu made a dominant return to grass, cruising past Cristina Bucsa 6-1, 6-2 at Queen’s Club. Back from a brief post-French Open break, she appeared confident and sharp, with her cross-court forehand especially effective in key exchanges.

Raducanu’s performance follows a challenging year and underscores her growing momentum ahead of Wimbledon. Now ranked No. 37, she’s chasing a top-32 seeding, aiming to strengthen her position with a strong showing in Berlin next week instead of Nottingham.

With Katie Boulter also seeking a Wimbledon seeding, competition is heating up among British women. But Raducanu’s composed display at Queen’s—her first match there—sent a strong message: she’s ready for the summer spotlight.
