Lewis Hamilton endured a challenging Ferrari debut at the Australian Grand Prix, finishing in P10 after a race filled with unpredictable conditions. Despite briefly leading the race due to a strategic call to stay out on dry tires, Hamilton ultimately felt Ferrari missed a crucial opportunity. He described the car as “really hard to drive” and struggled with its performance, particularly in the wet.

The race saw several incidents, with multiple drivers crashing out, including Isack Hadjar, Jack Doohan, and Fernando Alonso. A late rain shower caused further chaos, and Hamilton found himself at the front before Ferrari’s weather forecast proved inaccurate. He later expressed frustration over the team’s misjudgment of the rain’s intensity, stating they underestimated how long it would last, which impacted his strategy.

Despite the disappointment, Hamilton remained grateful for finishing the race without crashing, emphasizing the challenge of adjusting to Ferrari’s setup and steering controls in wet conditions. He acknowledged the learning curve with his new team and power unit, hoping to extract more performance in future races. Ferrari will now analyze their strategic errors as they prepare for the next round of the championship.
