Matildas skipper Sam Kerr stays under the radar as Australia gears up to face Slovenia

Sam Kerr has made a surprise return to the Matildas camp in Perth as she continues her recovery from a long-term ACL injury. The national team captain kept a low profile, avoiding Tuesday’s open media session.

While Kerr won’t feature in the upcoming friendlies against Slovenia and Panama, she will train individually and take part in select sessions with the squad. Football Australia confirmed her rehab will proceed under careful supervision.

Her comeback is being managed closely with Chelsea FC, following a second knee surgery earlier this year. Kerr’s presence marks a positive step in her return, with new coach Joe Montemurro in regular contact.
