Nelly Korda asks Tiger Woods TGL format before 2026 comeback win season sees the other end of Upper Deck partnership.
Nelly Korda and Tiger Woods are again making headlines, though this time the relationship is about controversy, business and a rebound that comes at the right time.
Just days following her outspoken inquiry of the technological-oriented TGL idea promoted by Woods openly, Korda introduced a new business relationship that brings her closer to his broader business system. The timelines were felt in the golfing world.
Korda had expressed the dismay that women were not part of TGL format, and it was a lost chance to expand the game in a really progressive manner. But shortly thereafter, the No. 2 in the world affirmed a big deal with Upper Deck the collectibles giant that already has Woods as one of its flagship deals.
The agreement will be introduced in 2026 and Korda will be featured on trading cards, memorabilia and other projects of the brand in general. Korda, citing her passion, said it was about the greater intimacy between a fan and an athlete, and collected items are more about the telling of storeys than about the product. The transaction captures her capacity of being outspoken on the direction of golf and at the same time increase her presence beyond competition.
She was critical of TGL, though indirectly. Korda referred to the lack of women as a massive and inconceivable error because competition between the sexes would have been groundbreaking to the sport. Meanwhile she conceded the imagination of the league, saying that it gave her ambivalent rather than negative emotions.
Korda allowed her golf to speak form her when the talk about TGL persisted. Her patience was stretched with a winless 2025 season, although nine top-10 finishes and a good-better-best income of about $2.8 million indicated that her level never lowered. In retrospect, she acknowledged consistency without wins as empty, and indicated that she would prefer to take chances of a few fewer cuts to get trophies in her hands once more.
The answer to that question was quick in the year 2026. By winning Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of champions, Korda ended a 14-month title drought and once again found herself in the top group. Any form of confidence once regained, she now looks forward to a hectic schedule comprising of various majors and the Solheim cup later in the year.
Combined with the vocal commentary, commercial growth, and track rebirth, the image is very plain: Korda is forging her career, her way. Whether she is crossing over to have an argument with Tiger Woods or a business deal, she still manages to maintain influence, performance and independence at the top of the game.
