On Friday, Lindsey Vonn delivered a strong performance in the second Super-G race in La Thuile, Italy, finishing in 13th place as the top U.S. skier. The Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete showed improvement from her previous race, though she expressed a desire for more speed. “I think today was definitely better than yesterday,” said Vonn. “But I wish I would have been able to ski a little bit faster. I’m just right on the wrong side of the tenths today.”

Racing on a warm day with a short and technical course, Vonn capitalized on her early bib number, which helped her avoid deteriorating conditions. She maintained strong splits throughout the run, navigating bumps and slower snow with precision. Despite narrowly missing the top 10, she was pleased with her effort. “For me, it was important to get to the finish line today. My season has been really up and down, so it’s a solid run and gives me good confidence going into the finals,” she said.

Teammates Lauren Macuga and Jackie Wiles also scored World Cup points, finishing 19th and 30th, respectively. The race was won by Italy’s Federica Brignone, with Sofia Goggia just 0.01 seconds behind in second place, while France’s Romane Miradoli secured third. With the regular season concluding, the top-ranked skiers will now prepare for the Stifel Sun Valley Finals in the United States.
